Instructions for checking detailed billing information
Rakuten Mobile monthly
Rakuten Mobile monthly
Rakuten Mobile is one of the most popular budget mobile carriers in Japan, thanks to its flexible pricing and attractive offers.
To manage expenses effectively, checking your monthly mobile phone bill is essential.
Below is a detailed step-by-step guide to help you easily check your Rakuten Mobile balance.
Before you begin, you need to prepare:
Rakuten account
My Rakuten Mobile app
Download the My Rakuten Mobile app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). This is the most convenient way to check your balance.
If you are using a PC or just want to use the web version: https://portal.mobile.rakuten.co.jp/dashboard
Go to https://portal.mobile.rakuten.co.jp/dashboard and log in, or open the My Rakuten Mobile app.
The interface and usage are 99% the same between the web and mobile versions, so here I'll only introduce the important information on the web version.
On the Home screen (dashboard) :
On the left: This is the amount of data you have used this month up to this point.
Right:
Information regarding upcoming payment amounts (at the end of this month)
The image shows the charges that will have to be paid at the end of April (based on data usage from March 1st to 31st) .
You can also click the left/right arrow next to the title to view the previous/next months...
Click the VIEW BILLING button to see details for each month.
Below on the right is the billing history for recent months.
How much do you use each month?
Which month did you use points to pay how much?
In which month, after using points to pay, will I be charged the actual amount? (As shown in the image, I always use points for automatic payments, so I don't get charged any fees each month.)
After clicking on VIEW BILLING , the interface shown above will appear (it's actually just a copy of the right-hand section of the Dashboard page).
From top to bottom, it would be:
Monthly charges
Payment history for recent months
I'm setting up automatic bill payment using Rakuten Points. As shown in the image, I currently have 86,420 points and am setting up to use all (possibly) points to pay my monthly Rakuten Mobile bill.
Now let's click on VIEW INVOICE to see the details of each sub-item explaining why the bill is the way it is!
After clicking VIEW INVOICE , here are the details for my April bill (based on my data usage from March 1st to 31st).
As shown in the image.
Rakuten最強プラン (1回線目)0~3GB
The main charge is for the service being used: Rakuten Saikyo Plan: 980 yen (excluding tax)
I only use less than 3 GB (because I have a fixed Wi-Fi connection at home and I've been working from home a lot lately).
国内通話/SMS
Domestic calls and SMS messages (the regular kind, because calls via the Rakuten Link app are 100% free): 0 yen
ユニバーサルサービス料
Standard service charge: 2 yen. I don't quite understand it, but everyone gets charged this little bit.
電話リレーサービス料
Phone forwarding service: 1 yen. I don't quite understand why, but everyone gets charged this little bit, again.
最強家族プログラム
I created a family group and invited friends and family to join. Each person in the group gets an extra 100 yen discount every month. I love it!
At the bottom are just the VAT taxes.
Additional services
If you subscribe to additional packages such as Unlimited Domestic Calls (1,100 yen/month) or International Calls (980 yen/month), these costs will be added to your monthly bill.
Pay on time.
Failure to pay on time may result in your service being temporarily suspended. Please check your bill regularly to avoid incurring debt.
If any errors are found
Contact the hotline (0800-600-0700) or submit a support request via the website.
Monitor your data usage (if you use a lot of data frequently, you can skip this step for now ^_^)
Use the My Rakuten Mobile app to check your data usage and avoid exceeding the 20GB limit unnecessarily.
Take advantage of Rakuten Link
Use the Rakuten Link app for free domestic calls, saving on call costs. With Toiawase, calling school or work is now worry-free. In the past, listening to Toiawase's hold music was incredibly annoying; it felt like I was paying for every second just to listen to terrible-quality music.
Earn Rakuten reward points
Pay your bills using your Rakuten credit card or bank account to earn points, then use those points to pay for bills or make purchases.
Furthermore, the Rakuten ecosystem offers countless essential services for daily life. If you stick with it, you're guaranteed that buying on Amazon won't even come close to the prices after deducting Rakuten points.
Checking your monthly Rakuten Mobile bill is a good habit for managing your spending and avoiding unexpected charges. With the My Rakuten Mobile app or the official website, you can easily track your bill in just a few minutes. If you encounter any problems, don't hesitate to contact support.
